The Times and The Guardian on our True Soul anthologies: 4 Stars!

Now-Again | Jul. 22, 2011 | News |

We have to admit that our Friday is off to a good start – two of the UK’s biggest dailies gave our True Soul: Deep Sounds From The Left Of Stax anthologies four stars. An excerpt from The Times’ review by Will Hodgkinson:

“… what amazing tunes they are: party instrumentals, hard luck tales and tender love songs all held together by a raw but tight funk sound.”

Both CD/DVD volumes – and our deluxe 4 LP box set – are in stock and shipping at Stones Throw’s webstore; Vol. 2 and the 4 LP box set are out everywhere good music is sold next Tuesday.

    Hello Egon,

Yesterday I received my copy of Vol.01 of the True Soul Anthology, and I have to say that it is incredible. I listen to it three times in a row. Thank you for putting this record out and to Mister Anthony for recording all of this amazing music. Please let him know, next time you talk to him, that True Soul Records have a new huge fan in Argentina. If it was not for labels like Now Again, I know that much of this music will be lost. Looking forward for the arrival of Vol.02

    Greetings from Buenos Aires Argentina
