An L.A. Case Study House, Vans Shoes and Maker Vs. Now-Again

We said that Maker Vs. Now-Again was made “with easy synchronization in mind.” Well, to prove just how easy it is, check the above video just released by Vans to promote their OTW Collection. The song is Maker’s “Hold ‘Em.” This is about as close as any of us here at Now-Again will come to living in one of L.A.’s Case Study Houses.

Finally! Mr. Chop and C.L. Smooth 7s in and shipping (… and we’re giving away a free MP3 for your patience!).

We’re really, really, really sorry – but it’s really a comment on the sad state of the record-pressing industry that we had to recut the lacquer for the Mr. Chop and C.L. Smooth 7″ singles that were supposed to come out alongside Chop’s For Pete’s Sake album what seems like a dozen times.

But now they’re sounding great (when does Malcolm Catto on drums ever sound anything but great?!) and in/shipping over at Stones Throw’s webstore. And we’re giving you the vocal track for “T.R.O.Y. (The Resurrection)” to thank you for your patience.

Announcing: Maker vs. Now-Again (and a free mp3!)

Chicago-area beatsmith Maker marks his Now-Again Records debut with Maker Vs. Now Again an entry in the same “music-library” series that saw the release of limited edition (and often not-for-sale) albums like Oh No Vs. Now-Again and Koushik Vs. Now-Again. A boom-bap era hip hop exercise in dusty drum breaks and two bar loops, this accessible series of tracks is clearly made for easy synchronization. This CD is only available for sale in Japan and comes packaged in a “mini-LP” thick cardboard “tip-on” sleeve.

Only 1000 copies of this CD were manufactured. Below we’re giving away a free mp3.

Download: “Come Home With Me.”
