You probably know all about Myron & E, the California-based soul duo currently finishing up their debut LP for the Finnish Timmion label. Backed by Timmion’s “in house” band The Soul Investigators, the duo’s second 7″ single “It’s A Shame” follows their gritty, Impressions-influenced debut and is released exclusively in North America on Now-Again Records, distributed by Stones Throw. Vocal and instrumental. 7″ comes with a picture sleeve and, while supplies last over at Stones Throw, a hand made flyer insert.

2010’s first quarter is shaping up to be a busy one, what with the Whitefield Brothers’ Earthology, our Fela-inspired comp Black Man’s Cry, the reissue of the Equatics’ brooding soul masterpiece Doin’ It!!!!, an EP by Dimlite, the Brazil Fuzz Guitar Bananas compilation we’re presenting with Joel Stones and, finally, our P.E Hewitt anthology…

But, when Jukka, drummer for the Soul Investigators and partner in Helsinki’s Timmion label, hit us up to ask if we wanted to release the forthcoming Myron & E 7″ in North America, we couldn’t say no. “It’s A Shame” will see release on February 2, 2010. More news soon.

Our friends at Timmion Records in Helsinki just released this video for the superb Myron & E song “Cold Game.” Yes, it’s low budget and obviously hand made. But that’s the aesthetic we dig most.
