Podcast – Egon At Red Bull Music Academy Madrid

Now-Again | Nov. 7, 2011 | News |

Egon just returned to Los Angeles from Madrid, where he spent two weeks hanging with the likes of WITCH’s “Jagari” Chanda, Brazilian legend Tom Zé and DOOM at 2011’s Red Bull Music Academy. In between interviewing Chanda, Zé and Erykah Badu – pictured above – he had time to sit down with Red Bull’s Spanish team to discuss future projects at Now-Again. Below, find a link to download his interview, which features exclusive tracks from forthcoming projects by the likes of the Heliocentrics and Dimlite, and music from forthcoming reissues by Indian 70s psych ensemble Atomic Forest and L.A. funk/soul combo Apple and The Three Oranges.

Not Really A Podcast: Part Three – The Poets of Rhythm, Malcolm Catto, Bajka Live In Nottingham, UK (2006)

Now-Again | Oct. 14, 2010 | News | , ,

Part three of what we think will be four – but might be five. Thanks to Sofrito’s Lewis Heriz we’re presenting another entry in our “Not Really A Podcast” series – the third song from the gig Heriz produced for the Poets of Rhythm/Whitefield Brothers, Heliocentrics drummer Malcolm Catto and vocalist Bajka at The Maze in Nottingham, UK, in 2006. This time – a cover of Egyptian drummer and bandleader Salah Ragab’s “Neveen.”
