Egon’s Rappcats Grab Bag – Pop-Up Record Shop Postponed

It will come as no surprise that Rappcats will no longer be opening up for Egon’s pop-up record shop on the weekend of March 21-22. We will announce a new date as soon as we can.

That said, we’re making the best of it for those stuck at home: we’ve assembled a limited amount of 3 LP grab bags and we’re offering them for sale online, on a first come first serve basis. Each grab bag comes with three pieces of vinyl from Egon’s collection. All genres.

One more thing … If you’re based in America and you’ve suddenly lost your job or have been furloughed from work like many of our friends, don’t fret. We still want you to have some good music to tide you over. Email us at inamel@rappcats.com and give us your address. We’ll send you a package and, when things return to normal, you can drop us a check in the mail or send us a Paypal. Honor system approach, no stress. Unfortunately international postage costs mean we can’t offer this to our friends overseas.

From our original post….

Rappcats is Los Angeles’ most unusual record shop, operated by Egon, Madlib, and Jeff Jank, and operating strictly on a “when we have something cool going on” basis, and usually hosted by an out-of-town record seller and their private collection. On March 21st and 22nd, Egon will bring his own vinyl, LP’s and 45s he’s collected on journeys around the world, along with rarities from his personal collection.

Records from Italian music libraries to the largest selection of clean Zamrock LP’s he’s assembled to date along with other entries in global groove will line the walls of the 1500 square foot Rappcats space in Highland Park. Also available on site will be the entire Now-Again catalog — for a one day discount of 25% less than our normal retail prices. If you can’t make it to Highland Park, all online Now-Again orders from the Rappcats store placed on that weekend will receive a 25% discount as well.

Soilpimp will be in town hosting a study in German Riesling, and perhaps even celebrated White Burgundy from the Puligny and Chassagne villages that abut the famed Montrachet vineyard. New stock will be available each day and we’ll be inviting legendary LA musicians to come hang and engage in musical discovery and conversation with you. Check Egon’s Instagram page for updates as to what will be made available at the pop up and check his 30+ hour long Spotify playlist to hear selections from the shop.
