After tracks from Maker Vs. Now Again were used in Entourage, CSI and a series of feature films and documentaries, Maker went back to the lab and created V.2, another boom-bap era hip hop exercise in dusty drum breaks and two bar loops. Again, this accessible series of tracks is clearly made for easy synchronization – but it knocks even harder than the first.

This is the collected works of the Flint, Michigan soul singer/songwriter and his band, including the crossover masterpiece “It’s A Bad Feeling” and entries by Hunts Determination Band, 21st Generations, Reggie and Vann and Brilliance. Mixed Sugar, The Complete Works contains awesome symphonic soul, heavy funk, pleading ballads, proto-disco and boogie in the vein of Motown’s classic recordings. As an added bonus – much of it came from master tapes and is previously unreleased!

The collected recordings (1973-1977) of India’s best-known psychedelic rock ensemble! The Atomic Forest’s mix of blistering, fuzzy rock and synth-lead funk inspired collectors the world over to fork over thousands of dollars for original copies of their solitary release, Obsession ‘77. Now, this ungodly fusion of funk and psychedelia – along with unreleased bonus tracks – is available to all.

Ok – we did say that Chrissy Zebby Tembo’s Zamrock heater My Ancestors was to be a conjoined release with Shadoks. The simple jewel-case CD packaging should clearly demonstrate that this isn’t the normal release from the Now-Again catalog. But that doesn’t excuse the fact that the album isn’t available digitally – and, as there were no plans to make it available on Itunes or Emusic, we’ve set it up at Drip.fm. That works out just fine as our years-in-the-making anthology of sweet funk and soul, Loving On The Flip Side, has been pushed until September anyway!
