The Nucleus was lacquered by Bernie Grundman in an all-analog transfer from MacDermot’s original master tape. This pressing will only be done once, and is the best that this album has sounded on vinyl since its rare original release.
The Nucleus, originally released in 1971, is the third in a trilogy of experimental instrumental albums by HAIR composer Galt MacDermot. Like the preceding Woman Is Sweeter, issued on Now-Again in 2023, The Nucleus is a quirky masterwork, the collated work of two soundtracks MacDermot composed with his friend Bill Dumaresque. This is an officially-sanctioned pressing by the MacDermot family, issued on Now-Again Records.
